Kinder Roots is designed as a developmental ecosystem — one that integrates environment, curriculum, emotional intelligence, movement, and early support into a single, cohesive model. Our strategy is grounded in a simple belief: the earliest years deserve the most thoughtful design. From the architecture of our classrooms to the emotional language used by educators, every decision is purposeful. We treat design as a teacher, movement as learning, and emotional regulation as foundational. Children are supported, observed, and guided with care, intention, and expertise.
From this, we focus on educational experiences that form our four guiding pillars.
There remains a significant gap in childcare and design innovation. We approach design as more than aesthetics–it’s an educator in itself. Every texture, tone, and spatial rhythm is intentional, crafted to regulate the nervous system, foster emotional grounding, and create a sense of belonging. Through organic forms and natural materials, our spaces subconsciously communicate safety, value, and care.
Conceived in Squamish, Kinder Roots draws inspiration from the mountains, the rivers, and the forests that surround it. Much of our program is modeled after nature itself–grounding children in a deep sense of belonging.
Learning is movement. It should radiate fun, and flow with a rhythm of active curiosity. Our programs celebrate play in motion, where questions spark joyful growth and expressive energy.
At the heart of Kinder Roots is the value of kindness. Yet, our mindfulness pillar extends further, encompassing emotional regulation, co-regulation, and awareness of the nervous system. Amid playful moments, there are pockets of stillness—quiet spaces where children, families, and educators can grow together.
In an age where digital connection often replaces human connection, we nurture the qualities that keep children grounded in self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and meaningful relationships.
Our pedagogy embraces the whole child, placing emotional intelligence at the foundation of learning — the skills that allow children to thrive not only in school, but in life. The ability to regulate emotions, manage stress, build relationships, and recover from challenges directly shapes long-term health, leadership, and decision-making.
Rooted in inquiry and imagination, our approach weaves creativity, empathy, and early STEM learning into each child’s journey — guiding them to learn not simply what to think, but how to wonder, explore, and grow with confidence.
Kinder Roots integrates the Ages & Stages Questionnaires (ASQ)—one of North America's most trusted developmental screening tools—directly into our care model. Each child receives a baseline assessment and ongoing re-screenings, allowing us to recognize developmental patterns early and respond with intention.
Through collaboration with trusted specialists—including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and child psychologists—families gain clarity, support, and access to the right resources during the most critical years of brain development.

Squamish offers a rare balance of wild beauty and calm. Children here will grow up surrounded by towering cedars, winding rivers, and the gentle presence of wildlife: a living classroom that inspires respect for the natural world. Every detail of our Redbridge Centre, from the architecture to the interior design, was built from the ground up to reflect the rhythm of the land itself.
